  • Bike How To and Ride Program

    Pedal Forward with Confidence

    Join our Bike Ride Program and discover the joy of cycling in a supportive community environment. Whether you're a beginner getting back on two wheels or looking to enhance your cycling skills, our program combines practical education with scenic group rides through local trails.

    What You'll Learn

    • Essential bike maintenance and troubleshooting

    • Safety fundamentals and the "ABC's of biking"

    • Trail and road etiquette for confident riding

    • Route planning and navigation skills

    Program Details

    When: Every two weeks at 6:00 PM
    Where: 1720 South Livernois
    What to Bring: Your bike, helmet, and water bottle

    This session begins with a brief educational component followed by a guided group ride exploring beautiful local routes. Every two weeks there after, we will meet at Neighborhood House for a group ride. Our rides are designed for all fitness levels.

    Flexible Participation

    Attend as often as your schedule allows - there's no requirement to participate in every session. We welcome cyclists of all experience levels and provide a judgment-free environment focused on fun, fitness, and community building.

    Nurturing Parenting Program - Information Session Join us for a one-hour overview of Oakland County's free Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP). This session will introduce you to a comprehensive 16-week family-based parenting program designed to help create stronger, more positive family relationships.

    • Building positive family relationships and communication

    • Understanding child development and what to expect at different stages

    • Effective stress management and positive discipline techniques

    • Handling family conflict and challenging behaviors

Scare Away Hunger Fundraiser

Scare Away Hunger 5K & Family Fun Run

Join Neighborhood House on Sunday, October 5, 2025, for our spooktacular 5K Run/Walk and Family Fun Run at Rochester Municipal Park. Help us fight food insecurity in our community while enjoying a morning of family-friendly activities. Costumes are strongly encouraged.

Family Fun Run starts at 9:00 AM | 5K Run/Walk begins at 9:30 AM
All registered participants receive a complimentary pancake breakfast - a new addition for 2025! Spectators can enjoy the pancake breakfast too.

Post-race festivities include kids' crafts and a costume contest with prizes. With 1 in 4 of our neighbors living paycheck to paycheck or in poverty, your participation directly supports our mission to provide meals and essential services to those in need.

VOLUNTEERS: Join our fantastic team of community helpers for this Halloween-themed fundraising event! Your contribution will help create a memorable experience while raising funds to combat hunger in Rochester and surrounding areas.

Stamp Out Hunger

Neighborhood House is excited to join the National Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, the nation's largest one-day collection, with all Rochester area donations going directly to the Neighborhood House Food Pantry.

How to Get Involved

Spread the Word: Share this initiative with friends and family in the area to maximize our community impact!


Donate: Leave non-perishable food items near your mailbox on May 9th. We kindly ask that all canned and packaged foods are not expired, as we cannot distribute expired items to families in need.

Watch for a mailer with instructions the week of May 5th. No mailer? Use any bag for your donation.


Volunteer: Help pick up donations, drive trucks, load/unload food, or sort items during and after the event.


All food collected stays local, helping to feed families facing hardship through the Neighborhood House Food Pantry

Henry Ford Health and Neighborhood House are partnering to provide free health screenings for school-aged children in Rochester Hills, Rochester, Auburn Hills, Oakland, and Leonard Townships. This community health fair is specifically designed for families who qualify for Medicaid or participate in government assistance programs.
