Missions & Values
Neighborhood House (legally Rochester Area Neighborhood House Inc.), a nonprofit human service organization founded by communities of faith in 1968, assists our neighbors during times of hardship. We collaborate with the community and other social service providers to help those neighbors in financial crisis toward self-sustainability. Life circumstances can change everything for anyone. Neighborhood House recognizes the basic need of residents in crisis and responds with emotional and financial assistance. We assist families and individuals in crisis move toward long-term success through rent and utility financial assistance, food, clothing, counseling, a bike program, transportation services, educational classes such as financial education, budgeting help, job coaching, resume building, parenting classes and computer literacy skills training. Neighborhood House believes that neighbors helping neighbors is the model of a strong community.
