The Clothes Closet is located at 44 Mill Street, under the Main Street Bridge, in Rochester. Clothes Closet hours are 9am-4pm on Monday and Tuesday, 9am-7pm on Wednesday, and 9am-1pm the first Saturday of the month for all eligible low-income individuals. Eligibility is determined at Neighborhood House, Monday-Thursday from 9:00am - 2:00pm.

  • Low-income residents are provided with new and gently used clothing and small household necessities.
  • A new Career Corner is available for those going into the workforce.
  • Infants and children's clothing available.
  • Birthday room with NEW toys and books!

On your next trip to the store, why not pick up an additional item or two and donate it to the Clothes Closet?

          The biggest needs for July are:

  • Men's and Women's underwear, all sizes
  • Diaper Wipes
  • Diapers, all sizes
  • Men's and Women's socks
  • Boy's and Girl's underwear, all sizes
  • Boy's and Girl's socks, all sizes
 
  • New Items for the Birthday room, specifically for Teenage boys and girls. Items such at handheld electronic games, action movies, or board games for children 8 and up (Cranium, Trivial Pursuit, Life, etc.) would all be acceptable for boys. For girls, acceptable items would be Jewelry, make-up sets, or board games.

 

 

 

The Clothes Closet is open to the public on two occasions.

Inventory Reduction Days-

      The Clothes Closet is open to the public every wednesday.  Donations are requested for items to support our outreach efforts.

Semi-Annual Clearance Events-

     Twice a year, in the spring and late summer, the clothes closet clears out its inventory to make room for new seasonal items. The public is invited to participate in these fund-raising events, as we accept donations for items we are clearing out. Your donations support our operations and efforts to make a difference in the community.
